So first, open SPSS, which you have downloaded from apps.kennesaw.edu
You can do this one of two ways:
download the SPSS data set that we will use and open in. If SPSS has been installed on your computer this should open the file in SPSS.
Download the SPSS data set and save it to a location on your computer (I have a PSYC3000 file where i have saved this). Open SPSS. Go to File > Open > Data and then select the file from where you have saved it.
Next, you will run the following analyses:
- A frequency distribution for age, grade, and race (use variable race7). Please include the mode and a bar chart for each.
- A frequency distribution for sex.
- Please get the mean for height. Create a histogram for height.
Using your results, answer the following questions:
- What is the mode for age, grade, and race?
- What percentage of your sample is in 11th grade
- What percentage of your sample is in a grade lower than 11th grade (hint: check your cumulative percentage)
- What is the average height of your sample? (remember this is in metric, so you do not need to convert)
