Routers are important because they act as traffic managers that keep packets flowing through the network. They keep track of multiple paths for traffic and choose the cheapest path to get data to where it needs to be.

If you are having connectivity issues make sure everything is active. If you are using a wired connection, make sure that everything is plugged in. If it is wireless, make sure the network is switched on. You can also contact your internet service provider. In other cases, reposition your device to be closer to the router.

The purpose of a router is so that the devices that you have at home can connect to the internet in a safe manner. A router is made so your devices are protected as much as possible when using them and are on the internet. For example, a firewall is used to protect your devices when on the internet. Also routers are used for connection more than one device to the internet. I need a router because I have a family of six and all of us have a minimum of 2 devices that we use on a daily basis that need to be connected to the internet.

The article gave many different ways to troubleshoot a router. The first was to make sure that the router is turned on. The second is to restart your router which could help clear up whatever was causing the issue. The third step was to reset your router’s software to its default settings. The last few steps were to check the SSID (wifi name) and make sure you phone is connected to it, check the DHCP server, and the last step was to update your network drivers and operating systems.
