For teacher leaders to address any form of change with fellow teachers, they must first evaluate the current social and emotional status of those teachers and find a way to connect with them in that state. Mentoring and coaching teachers is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor; every relationship is different and, thus, many tools are necessary to change the current structure to a collaborative mindset given the variety of relationships involved. To be successful in implementing and sustaining a mindset of coaching, collaboration, and mentoring, the teacher leader must engage in ongoing evaluation of the mindset of the teaching staff. In this assignment, you will explore how to evaluate the current mindset in education and bring about a shift to a new mindset.
