Response to, my friend’s discussion. The response should be basic in just two sentences.!!

A. My score is I am not sleep deprived, I answered true to one question. B. I am not surprised that I am not sleep deprived. I can see random days struggling on a day I got less sleep, but majority of the time I am getting a fair time of sleep. I am in bed by 11pm most nights and up around 6/7am. I normally do not start my day until about 9/10am leaving me rooming to relax when I wake up. C. Tips I find helpful to getting a good night sleep is being active throughout your day and finding time for yourself during the night. Find a good balance of work and personal life schedule, then make sure to add a window for 6-8hours of sleep. Mindset is helpful and Mattresses Matter!
Something I learned from “Proven Sleep Tips | How to fall asleep faster | Doctor Mike” is to drink caffeine before lunch.! From personal trial, I preferred drinking coffee earlier in the day and finishing by 3/4pm the latest, and did not like my “high energy” kicking in much later in the day 6-8pm. Now that I know coffee/caffeine has a half-life of 6 hours and taking up to 12 hours to flush out our system is crazy! Love learning new things, excited to see what more I learn! Will for sure only drink coffee early, or none at all

After I assessed myself, I discovered that I wasn’t sleep deprived. I only answered true on one of them and that was the one that mentioned falling asleep while reading. I try to read overnight before I sleep because it makes me very sleepy haha. I honestly wasn’t too surprised. Sometimes it can get a bit hectic in the semester depending on the workload I have with shows and classes but I always prioritize my sleep. Something that I learned from the handout is that “Mattresses Matter”! I’m the kind of person that can literally fall asleep anywhere (trust me, I have). But sleeping in a nice, comfortable mattress really does make a difference. Some the tips that I find helpful are box breathing. Whenever I can’t sleep or am having trouble sleeping, I will breathe in for 4 seconds, hold it for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4, then repeat. It naturally relaxes your body and has helped me MANY times! Something I learned from one of the videos is that keeping your room cold actually has benefits to your sleep. My friends always make fun of me because my room is always at around the 60 mark and are constantly complaining that it’s too cold but now I can use this against them hehe.
