REPLIES TO THESE TWO IN APA FORMAT AND USING IN TEXT CITATIONS AND REFERENCES
1. The proliferation of social media platforms in the digital age has drastically reshaped the landscape of professional ethics, particularly in the field of nursing. As Yoder-Wise (Elsevier, 8th Edition) astutely points out, leadership and management in nursing now require a nuanced understanding of the implications of online actions and their potential repercussions, both legally and ethically.
Upon discovering that an employee posted images of a client on social media, my approach would be guided by a blend of ethical considerations, professional guidelines, and concepts of effective leadership. First and foremost, I would promptly schedule a private meeting with the employee to discuss the incident. This approach aligns with Yoder-Wise’s emphasis on the importance of open communication in leadership roles (Yoder-Wise, 2021). It’s crucial to create an environment where the employee feels safe to explain their actions and understand the gravity of the situation.
The National Council State Board of Nursing’s publication, “A Nurse’s Guide to the Use of Social Media,” underscores the gravity of such a breach. The guide asserts that sharing patient information, even unintentionally, can have severe consequences for both the nurse and the institution they represent. Not only does it breach patient confidentiality, but it also undermines the trust essential to the nurse-patient relationship (NCSBN, n.d.). The guide provides a clear mandate for nurses to avoid such behavior and suggests that the act of posting client pictures can be seen as a violation of professional and ethical standards.
In the realm of nursing, trust is sacrosanct. As emphasized by Smith and Jones (2022) in their seminal work on nursing ethics in the age of technology, “The virtual realm is not detached from the real world; breaches in the former have tangible consequences in the latter.” The act of posting patient photos, regardless of intent, is a glaring breach of this trust.

2.
One thing a nurse manager should be able to do is lead the team, and an important quality for a leader to have is the skill to communicate well, including strong communication when needed (Yoder-Wise, 2019). To start, I would ask the employee to remove the pictures of the client from social media followed by stressing how seriously we take HIPAA rules and the negative consequences that can happen to individuals and the workplace from breaking them. Sharing health info on social media without considering patients not only damages trust and invades privacy, but also makes people doubt the whole profession (Kanchan & Gaidhane, 2023). Then, we would talk about strategies to prevent a similar situation in the future. This might involve refraining from taking photos of clients, whether they’ve given consent or not, and maintaining a professional atmosphere within the workplace.

ANSWER 2 DISCUSSION POSTS IN APA FORMAT AND USING IN TEXT CITATIONS AND REFERENCES
USING THE TEXT BOOK AS ONE OF THE REFERENCES (text book reference is Yoder-Wise, P. (2021). Leading and Managing in Nursing. Elsevier, 8th Edition.)
1. Review your state’s Nurse Practice Act and rules and regulations. As a coworker, what are you required to do if you believe a nurse has a problem with chemical dependency? As the nurse manager, what are your obligations? Please cite the Nurse Practice Act.
Be sure to apply concepts from the readings and research. For your initial post, you must have two references, one from your textbook and one peer-reviewed scholarly journal (no blogs, Wiki, or other schools of nursing websites) in the current APA Style. For each response post, you must have one peer-reviewed scholarly journal reference. Each reference must have a corresponding in-text citation.
2. Research Lewin’s Change Theory (presented in Chapter 18) for planned change and describe the change process and how each of the below can positively or negatively impact the change process.
Resistance
Attitudes and behaviors
Change agents and communications
