One: college core value of excellence empowers us all to individually and collectively work hard to ensure that character, skills, and knowledge assimilation is essential to morally responsible leaders. In the same analysis of excellence, quantitative research and dissertations require us to be able to use theoretical tools and techniques to be able to evaluate the data in a responsible manner (Mahoney & Owen, 2021).

Having a well-designed experiment allows for standards that are in place in the academic research community to create an atmosphere of academic relationships that are fruitful and beneficial for all researchers and participants involved (Mahoney & Owen, 2021). The researcher has to be able to rationally and morally look at the data without a bias that may or may not evident on the surface (Mahoney & Owen, 2021).

Academic honesty has to be critical in how the research is conducted in order for the academic community to build on the material that was evaluated during that research of that particular field. In doing great research, the researcher is able to provide relationships within the academic community to do more academic research, because the value has been evident (Mahoney & Owen, 2021). 

Dissertations must be focused on the data and what that data represents to future research options. We must be able to value the academics that we all come to the table based on the academic value that is fostered by excellent academic research.

Two:  College core values of excellence stress how morality holistically impacts the community and the development of the individual. Therefore, the institution’s values are cemented in an ethical construct and can directly be applied to improve the authenticity of quantitative research and dissertations. Ethics are fundamental to the authenticity of research findings and statistics (McClave et al., 2021). Unfortunately, there are researchers willing to perform unethical studies to have a preferred outcome. According to McClave et al. (2021), “in order to guarantee a preferred conclusion is considered unethical statistical practice” in quantitative research (p. 384). This includes changing values after computing the statistical significance, or pairing observations in a certain way to get unjustified results (McClave et al., 2021). Unethical statistical practices should never be used in research, nor should any unethical shortcuts be made in dissertations for it can have a negative impact on the topic at hand and have dire reputational implications on the researcher and institution itself. Therefore, College core values of excellence establish effectively how moral attributes are embedded within the institution for the greater good of higher learning—and shall remain for the continued development of excellence, community, respect, personal development, responsible stewardship, and integrity.
