Description
1. Abstract/Introduction
Abstract followed the layout for an abstract, however the overall critical focus needs to be questioned. Introduction/rationale covered too many themes, without specifically highlighting a specific business challenge. It seems from the introduction that these companies are very successful, so it seems their strategies are working! Really needed an industry challenge to investigate, probably avoiding too broad a focus on aspects of these type of business corporations.
Not sure that the studies relevance in relation to the industries `sustainability and growth’ was clear. 2 RQs, 5 Objectives, while attempting to develop the aim, the objectives were limited.
2. Literature Review
Basic descriptive sections on theory, with some limited application and examples linked to the beverage industry. 2.3.2 on organizational structure, with dated reference was a weak/limited section + 2.3.3 was also poor on institutional environment, vaguely attempting to discuss sustainability in production. Overall the chapter does not really improve and was a very weak attempt at developing this topic.
3. Methodology
Vague sections on research philosophy/approach. The discussion on the inductive approach mentioning semi structured interviews was confusing. Needed a section on sufficiency of secondary data to meet the objectives + credibility of secondary data. The analysis and V&R sections were reasonable. Overall this chapter was weak.
4. Findings
limited/Predictable reporting, with mainly obvious discussion.
5. Conclusion
While going over the objectives, the section 5.2 contribution of research is misleading. The other parts of the conclusion are not based on research, seem like vague recommendations. Limitations suggested the study could have covered more themes. Overall a vague rounding off of the study.
6. Presentation
referencing issues and layout issues/use of bold type in parts.
7. Contribution
poor.
