Scope of the Project
GITAM is one of the well-known university in India but they only having three campus’s they want to provide different skill set to their student on the same platform and same level of study in all its campus’s. Doing this they need to work on their infersututure that why they contracted with cisco to provide an internetworking for their campus’s so to fulfill there need to become first university that will provide e learning with high speed internet connectivity to the student.
In this report we will see the different problem face by the university during implementation of this project and hardware and how they implemented the whole system.
Challenges
Foremost challenges face by the university is financial aid as they are small university with only three campuses so to support them they need to take bank loan and some social fund are also required. Secondly, for setting up this internetwork connectivity it will take a lot of time. Thirdly, student might use this facility for wrong doing. Lastly, the locality of this university campus is outside the cities so they may face problem regarding the high speed of the internet.
Project hardware requirements
CISCO hardware is used as GITAM University selected cisco as their partner for this project so different switches and routers with different specification is selected as per the requirement. Here we use 3600 series router and 2900 switches for implementing your design. 3600 series (3640) is compatible with the cisco end to end for dialing connectivity.

In this we have different switch and router and different add on’s to implement the design of your project. Here main campus is connected with both other campus and main campus is controlled by admin so all the university are now interconnect as shown in the above figure.
Outcomes
GITAM University is providing better E-learning as internetwork by cisco provide higher speed videos to stream , videos on demands well as distance learning.secondly,international standards are matched as per the education university.thirdly university gain a lot of revenue form distance learning. Lastly, the university are now able to provide same level of education in each of its campus.
Limitations
We are not able to use the router 7206 in this project as this router is not present in the netsim software in place of that we use 3600 series router as its alternative and we are also not able to show multiple devices in netsim. At the same time providing services to the router and switches may be very expensive for the university.
Conclusion
In this case study we learnt about challenges face by university different component use in designing a system and use of network simulating softwares.and its reflects that this kind of networking will provide quality education to the student at the same time reduce the work load of the staff and in long run decrees in the cost of services providing.
